This was our first time here, dinner with long time friends. We'd heard good things about Pickle and Ash and we can confirm they're true! Our server was great, good sense of humor, attentive, personable and accommodating. She took good care of us! The food is the star! Simple menu but the food is complex, more what I would expect in Charlotte, Atlanta or NYC, but it's in Stuart! It's easy to hit $100 for dinner for 2, so don't let that catch you by surprise. You can get out under $40 but once you see what's up, you'll wanna go over! The only drawback is once the restaurant is full, it gets loud and is hard to have a conversation. Other than that, fantastic place!
A true respite in the area. Very comfortable setting, with nice outdoor space in good weather. Drinks are inventive, excellent. Food is well thought, well prepared, and exceptionally delicious. I could find no faults. Service is warm, friendly, thorough. This is a destination restaurant.
Great experience! We showed up with no reservations from Friday dinner. They graciously moved some things around and made room for us.
Our server had great product knowledge, was attentive and funny.
We ordered one item off the menu and two off the specials menu. All were hot, fresh and delicious.
Great experience, will return next time we're in the area (but we'll call ahead next time!).
Our new favorite place. Don't let the outside fool you. It is wonderful inside. The food is so fresh and delicious. Beautiful outdoor and indoor seating. We bring all of our out of town company here and are never disappointed. Save room for the strawberry shortcake.
I had been following Pickle and Ash on social media for some time before having the occasion to visit. We took a family road trip from Danville to Wade's orchard and stopped here for lunch on the way back home.
The service was stellar. Our waiter, Brandon, was friendly and patient as well as knowledgeable of the menu and the establishment. He happily answered my grandfather's inquiry of where the name of the restaurant came from. Every dish we ordered was delicious. We split a dessert that was melt in your mouth amazing. I think we all picked up something in the market as well. Overall, this was such an enjoyable experience and we all look forward to visiting again.
If I had to find one complaint, it is only that they have those little metal chairs that are so popular in restaurants now. As a plus sized woman, they just aren't ample enough.
A shining culinary light where I'd least expect it. I have been here on multiple occasions (whenever I find myself in the area) and every time the food, the service, and the atmosphere has been exemplary. All of the wait staff have been kind and courteous, the owners seem involved and passionate about customer care, and without fail the kitchen staff has produced well crafted, delicious meals that I still think about months later-and just about every dish is made from locally sourced ingredients. Not to mention the top notch cocktails-with a menu that blends original, creative constructions and time honored classics, all well crafted and beautifully balanced.
If you ever find yourself in Martinsville, or Stuart, or hell even Floyd, I cannot recommend making a reservation at this absolute gem of a restaurant and making the trip. You won't regret it.
Expensive, but worth the cost, especially for special occasions. The service was immaculate, our server was so kind and on top of her game. She was also amazing at describing the specials and other items on the menu! Beautiful restaurant and space, and was decorated in such a nice way. Definitely recommend if you're looking to make reservations somewhere nice! Truly a memorable experience!
Food and drinks were surprisingly good.
Google maps directed us through a neighboring church parking lot to get there. The church had a sign that warned about the road to the restaurant leading to hell. Happy to say, it lied.
